Aftercare and advice
Quartz Worktop Aftercare
Keeping your new worktops looking beautiful for years to come
Caring for quartz is simple. Follow these easy tips to maintain the beauty and durability of your investment for many years to come.
Day Care & Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, use warm water with a mild dish soap, or a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. After cleaning, rinse the surface with warm water and dry with a clean, soft cotton cloth or paper towel
Stubborn, Dried-on Stains & Spills
Apply a non-abrasive cleaner to a clean cloth or paper towel (not directly onto the worktop) and work the affected area in a gentle circular motion, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Recommended cleaners include:
• Bar Keepers Friend® Soft Cleanser, Spray or Foam
• Flash with Bleach
• A vinegar-based glass cleaner
To remove adhered material such as food, gum or dried spills, gently scrape away the excess with a plastic putty knife, then clean any residue with a damp cloth. Always rinse off all soap or cleaner with hot water and dry with a soft cloth.
Chemicals & Harsh Cleaners to Avoid
To protect your worktop, please avoid contact with the following:
• Oven, grill, toilet bowl, furniture or drain cleaners
• Paint or floor strippers, and tarnish removers
• Oil-based soaps and cleansers
• Battery acid or any other caustic substances
If your surface comes into contact with any of these, rinse the area immediately with water. Prolonged exposure may cause discolouration or damage.
Heat Resistance
Quartz is heat resistant, but not heat proof. Always use trivets or hot plates to protect your worktop, especially with appliances such as electric frying pans or slow cookers. Never place hot cookware directly onto the surface, as sudden temperature changes can cause damage.
Cutting & Chopping
Never cut directly onto your worktop. Knives can leave residual metal marks — these are not scratches and can be removed using the steps above for stubborn stains. We always recommend using a chopping board.
No Sealer Required
Do not apply sealers or polishes to your quartz worktop. They are not necessary and, over time, can make the surface appear dull or inconsistent.

Frequently asked questions
We pride ourselves on our customer experience. We understand a lot of this has to do with turnaround times!
Prior to templating, we ask for as much notice as you can allow. We advise leasing with your kitchen fitter and once you’ve got a date, just let us know. This can always be changed if need!
From templating to fitting is a quick turnaround. However, this can be dependent on the chosen material. When you receive a quote, just ask us to elaborate a bit more and we can be more specific for you!
Templating is the first time you’ll see one of our teams on site. We want to ensure your worktops are fitted ASAP. Just follow these easy steps:
- Be on site when we visit – we will work to your specifics when on site.
- Make arrangements for worktops to be removed – please let us know if we need to do this during the quoting process!
- Have all appliances on site – when we arrive for templating we need your hob, sink and any other cut outs on site. Please there are not fitted unless this is a Belfast sink!
- Ensure all units are fixed – when we template all units must be fitted to ensure there’s no movement. This may have a knock on effect
- Remove tiles – if you have tiles, please remove any that may prevent templating upstands or backsplashes.
Choosing your material is completely subjective. Quartz, Granite, Dekton and Exotics (quartzite) have their own positives.
However, we source all our materials from reputable suppliers meaning you will never want on quality! We always advise choosing a colour you love and working backwards from there.
And remember, we’re always on hand offer advice!
